Boy Stuff...

So, Kyle and I decided to start painting the baby's room this week. We chose a slate blue color. Take a look at the happy couple painting:

Our next task is to choose "boy stuff" to put in the room. We are attempting an airplane theme...we'll see how it turns out. We have chosen a contemporary crib and changing table, as well as a rocking chair. Hopefully we can pick up those items soon. We are also on the hunt for some airplanes for decoration! Picking out "boy stuff" is a little harder than I thought!

Today, I had a check up at the doctor's office. Everything looked great! Emerson's heart rate was around 150ish. My belly measurement was 23 inches (from pelvis to top of the fudus). The doc thought everything looked very good...and I feel great too...so good news all around! I'm finishing 23 weeks this weekend...it's crazy how time flies!

Hopefully we can squeeze in some time this weekend for registering. Baby shower dates are quickly approaching. My sisters wanted to know where I was registered...except we aren't yet! So, off to pick out even more "boy stuff"....:)

December has come and gone...

What a busy month! It seems like forever since I have posted. I turned another year older! Kyle and I spent the month working, decorating, shopping, and preparing for the many Christmas parties we attended. We spent Christmas with both sides of the family. My sister and Kyle's sister came to visit from out of state, along with their spouses and pets. :) We even celebrated our 3.5 year anniversary!

Most importantly and much to our surprise, we found out that our baby is a BOY on December 23rd! We were both thrilled. (I think we both had ourselves convinced that we were having a girl!) We decided to name him Emerson. Any suggestions for middle names??? We just can't decide.

I have begun to feel Emerson's movements almost daily now. Kyle was even able to feel him kick last night! It's such an amazing feeling!

In honor of Emerson, I have been trying to convert our blog to a more boyish look. I hope you like it!

If you are interested, I have included the picture of our ultrasound...note the "boy parts"!!!

Happy 2010...by the way! January means planning for May when Emerson arrives. I suspect these next few months will be full of planning, registering, and working on the nursery! Fun times! I will keep you posted as this all unfolds...promise!
